Gian Lassi in Amritsar
We arrived in Amritsar on an evening flight and had less than two whole days there, so we had to make the most of it. We had a lot to do, including visiting the sights that we wanted to take our guests to, such as the Golden Temple, visiting potential hotels for our January guests and of course the food!

Jama Masjid, Delhi
While we were spending a few days in Delhi, I thought it would be a good idea to visit some of the historical sites like the Jama Masjid or Jama Mosque. Built between 1650 and 1656 by Emperor Shah Jahan from pink Rajasthani sandstone and white marble, it is an impressive sight. While we are not entirely sure what Shah Jahan’s plan was when visiting the mosque, some historians believe that he intended to send a message of world unity. Its original name was Masjid-i-Jahan-Numa which can be translated into “The Mosque that Reflects the World.” -

On Tour in Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu is a state packed full of history, much of which can be seen in the temples. Some of the temples are thousands of years old and one feels a sense of being part of living history when walking through them. Our food and heritage tour of Tamil Nadu started in Chennai, where we visited the Kapileshwar temple on Maha Shivaratree, a very auspicious date in the Hindu Calendar. -
My pilgrimage to Rameshwaram
One of my absolute favourite places to visit in the whole of India is the Ramanathaswamy temple in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu. The vibrant town of Rameshwaram is an example of India’s rich heritage, not only in terms of history, but also in terms of spirituality and architecture. The temple is on Pamban island, connected to the Tamil Nadu mainland by the famous Pamban bridge, which is a little over 2 km long. -

My South Indian Pumpkin Recipe
I have recently received several questions about the ingredients that I used in the recently shared video about my South Indian Pumpkin. Since it is a very versatile dish, vegan and gluten free it is suitable for most people and very easy to prepare. Depending on what you have on hand, other vegetables can be substituted for the pumpkin with equally delicious results.
Read the recipe or watch my video to learn more.
